Welcome to the book club! Spiderella I recognize as IRR-folk, and it's nice to have you here, but I'm not familiar with the rest. Anyone care for an introduction? I can start. I tend to go by Psyche, I run <a href="http://plutonica.net">Pluntonica.net</a> along with <a href="http://www.spiralnature.com">SpiralNature.com</a>. I've been practicing various forms of magick since I was kid. Satanism and chaos magick have been early and influential studies, and tarot history a personal (and utterly geeky) passion, with a lot of Crowley and Spare thrown in for good measure. So, that's kind of my background. What's yours? I live in a city (Toronto). Nothing of what I see would have existed where it is. Even the trees were planted to accommodated the surrounding houses. It's winter, so there isn't even any grass. The bushes are dead but dreaming. 2. Again, city. I can see three stars and two airplanes. 3. At the moment meteors reminder me of a short story I'm working on where they can (but rarely) carry gods to Earth. Not terribly scientific, but rather romantic for this atheist. 4. I imagine it would. I haven't had a landlord for some years, but I can easily see a "reality" show of griping tenets vs bemoaning landlords. Like that Wife Swap show I once caught at the gym, force them to deal with each other's problems, and realize what it means to be a responsible property owner vs agreeing to live in and care for a home which you have no long term vested interest in. 5. I find it hilarious that RAW recommends avoiding paranoid conspiracies, but I don't really have any idea why there are so many cop shows. I haven't had cable for many years, so what TV I catch tends to be in snippets at the gym, but there seem to be at least three versions of CSI - all of which feature the same sort of wooden acting, which is fine, since none of the characters have personalities. It's really bizarre. It looks like it would have a rough texture. The blue bit has been identified as benonite, and <a href="http://www.greatbasinminerals.com/Collecting%20Reports/Benitoite%20Fee%20Dig,%20Oct%205th%20to%20the%208th,%202007/Benitoite%20Fee%20Dig%20Report,%20Oct%2007.htm">this guy</a> was really, really excited about it. I haven't read any Stirner or Husserl, and now I haven't read any Kafka. As if I needed more excuses to buy books! In any case, my reading of it seems out of context, and that vexes me. Nonetheless, here I go! This parable speaks to me something of experience and knowledge, or the futility of expectation. The man is waiting to pass through the door of the Law, the Law that's specific to the individual in question, outside of which a guard is posted, like a psychic censor. The guard accepts the bribes, the tricks we try to circumvent our personal barriers, but this guard never gives in, "so you will not abandon hope entirely". At the man's last moment, the door is slammed in his face. Death. "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here." Yet, where the man failed to enter, Simon Moon passed. Thoughts?
